The Cult of Kosmos is the secret organization opposed by the player in Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
The cult operates throughout the Greek world during the Peloponnesian War and seeks to manipulate political events from behind the scenes. The player's mercenary investigates and eliminates cult members, gradually uncovering the hierarchy and identity of the group's leader. This investigation is one of Odyssey's main story strands alongside the family narrative and the exploration of Isu history.
The Order of the Ancients belongs primarily to the earlier setting of Assassin's Creed Origins and its follow-up stories. The Templar Order is the later, better-known rival organization in much of the series, but Odyssey uses the Cult of Kosmos for its central Greek conspiracy. The cult's members are divided into branches, each associated with different regions and roles.
