The count includes the original main-series film, its direct sequel, and two spin-offs set within the franchise’s shared Lego universe. The Batman and Ninjago films were released in the same year, making 2017 the franchise’s busiest theatrical year.
A common mix-up is counting The Lego Movie: 4D – A New Adventure, which is a theme-park attraction rather than a standard theatrical feature. Short films, television projects such as Unikitty!, and later Lego productions made under different arrangements are also outside this four-film theatrical lineup.
