Who voices Koko, Lloyd's mother, in The Lego Ninjago Movie?

Olivia Munn voices Koko, Lloyd’s mother, in The Lego Ninjago Movie.

Koko is the former wife of Lord Garmadon and the mother of Lloyd Garmadon, the film’s young Green Ninja. Before the events of the movie, she was known as the “Lady Iron Dragon,” a legendary warrior-queen. Her history as a fighter contrasts with her later life away from Ninjago City and helps explain why Lloyd’s family background is more complicated than the city’s schoolchildren understand.

The film focuses on Lloyd’s painful relationship with Garmadon, who attacks Ninjago City while also being Lloyd’s absent father. Koko provides the family connection that links Lloyd’s ordinary school life, his identity as the Green Ninja, and Garmadon’s villainous past. Olivia Munn’s role is therefore important to the story’s family comedy as well as its action plot.

Viewers may confuse Koko with other cast members. Abbi Jacobson voices Nya, one of the ninjas, Constance Wu voices the Mayor of Ninjago, and Ali Wong voices General Olivia. Olivia Munn’s character is specifically Lloyd’s mother.
