How many silver medals did Germany win at the 2026 European Athletics Championships in Birmingham?

The story behind the answer

Germany won 10 silver medals at the 2026 European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.

Germany finished third in the final medal table with six gold, 10 silver and five bronze medals, giving it 21 medals altogether. The country therefore won more silver medals than any other team at the championships.

The silver-medal total is separate from Germany’s gold-medal count and overall ranking. Great Britain and Northern Ireland finished ahead of Germany because it won nine golds, even though Germany had two more medals overall.

German medalists included Florian Bremm in the men’s 5,000 metres, Emil Agyekum in the men’s 400-metre hurdles and Nick Thumm in the men’s javelin. The country also supplied both the gold and silver finishers in the men’s decathlon.
