Elden Ring has eight primary attributes that players can level: Vigor, Mind, Endurance, Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Faith, and Arcane.
These attributes shape a character’s health, focus points, stamina, equipment load, weapon scaling, spellcasting, and status effects. Runes earned from defeating enemies and discovering locations can be spent to increase them at Sites of Grace after the leveling system is unlocked.
A common mix-up is counting only the classic Souls attributes or treating weapon requirements as separate attributes. Elden Ring’s full attribute list contains eight categories, although individual builds usually focus on only a few. Vigor improves HP, Mind raises FP, and Endurance affects stamina and carrying capacity. Strength and Dexterity support physical weapons, while Intelligence and Faith govern different forms of magic. Arcane influences discovery and several status-related effects.
The game also includes derived statistics, equipment values, and resistances, but these are not additional primary attributes.
