The editing process involved several filmmakers, including Nat Sanders, Gina Sansom, and Harry Yoon. The first assembly cut was much longer, running for approximately 170 to 180 minutes. The final version was shortened to around 144 minutes during the editing process, while the published running-time listing gives the theatrical version as 145 minutes.

The filmmakers said that the early cut was over-edited after test-screening feedback.
