At which award ceremony did Elden Ring win Game of the Year in 2022?

Elden Ring won Game of the Year at The Game Awards in 2022. The ceremony recognized the game as the year’s overall outstanding release.

The Game Awards 2022 took place on December 8, 2022, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Elden Ring competed against other major releases, including God of War Ragnarök, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray, and A Plague Tale: Requiem.

The award was one of several major honors Elden Ring received after its February 2022 release. The game’s open-world structure, exploration, combat, art direction, and environmental storytelling were frequently cited in contemporary critical praise.

The Game Awards is distinct from the Golden Joystick Awards, DICE Awards, and BAFTA Games Awards, all of which have their own ceremonies and award categories. Elden Ring also received recognition from several of those organizations.
