The title Spider-Man: Brand New Day was announced at CinemaCon in 2025. Sony Pictures revealed the title during its panel at the annual theatrical exhibition convention.
Tom Holland appeared through a video message, while director Destin Daniel Cretton also took part in the announcement. The title was derived from the Brand New Day comic-book storyline.
CinemaCon is held for movie theater owners, distributors, studios, and entertainment journalists. Studios commonly use it to present release plans, footage, trailers, and major announcements.
The title suggested a thematic reset for Peter Parker after Spider-Man: No Way Home. In the comics, Brand New Day followed the controversial One More Day storyline, while the film similarly begins after the world forgets Peter’s identity.
