At The Game Awards 2022, which top prize did Elden Ring win?

Elden Ring won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2022.

The award recognized the game as the overall outstanding release of 2022. Elden Ring also won Best Game Direction and Best Role Playing at that ceremony, giving it three awards in total.

The Game Awards are an annual video game awards event created and hosted by Geoff Keighley. The 2022 ceremony took place in Los Angeles and included awards across creative, technical, performance, and genre categories.

Game of the Year is distinct from Best Role Playing and Best Game Direction. Those categories recognize particular aspects of a title, while the top prize honors the overall game. Elden Ring’s win followed its February 2022 release and broad critical acclaim.
