Tom Holland wears the Spider-Man suit for approximately 80 percent of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. That is substantially more screen time in costume than in the earlier MCU Spider-Man films.
The increased costume use reflects the story’s premise: Peter has dedicated himself almost entirely to protecting New York as Spider-Man. With the world unable to remember Peter Parker, his superhero identity occupies most of his daily life.
The suit was designed to look more homemade because Peter no longer has access to Tony Stark’s money and technology. Holland helped develop the design, and the production avoided using visual effects to hide every wrinkle and imperfection. The costume was also built to be more flexible and comfortable than his earlier versions.
