s1mple was named Most Valuable Player of the PGL Major Stockholm 2021.
Playing for Natus Vincere, commonly called NAVI, s1mple delivered a dominant performance throughout the tournament. NAVI won the grand final 2–0 against G2 Esports and became the first team to win a CS:GO Major without losing a map.
The Stockholm Major was held from 26 October to 7 November 2021 at the Avicii Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. It was the first Counter-Strike Major played in front of a live audience after the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the tournament schedule.
Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev had long been regarded as one of the game’s leading individual players, but the 2021 championship was especially significant because it gave him his first Major title. The MVP award refers to this tournament, not to a career-long ranking.
