Which Counter-Strike map features the bombsite landmarks named A Long and A Short?

The story behind the answer

Dust II is the Counter-Strike map known for the A Long and A Short routes.

Its A bombsite is approached through two famous corridors: A Long, a lengthy exterior route, and A Short, the shorter path leading through the catwalk area. These names are used internationally by players and commentators to describe attacks, defensive positions, and rotations.

Dust II is set in a desert environment and uses the filename de_dust2 in the classic Counter-Strike naming convention. Its layout developed from the earlier Dust map but became a separate competitive standard because of its clear lanes, balanced bombsites, and strong emphasis on mid control.

The map is often confused with Mirage or Cache because all three are widely played bomb-defusal environments. A Long and A Short are specifically associated with Dust II’s A-site approach.
