Keith Andrews was Brentford’s manager when they opened the 2026–27 Premier League season with a win over Tottenham Hotspur.
Brentford defeated Tottenham 3–0 at home on Saturday 22 August 2026. The result gave Andrews an emphatic start and continued Brentford’s strong form after the club had matched its best-ever Premier League finish the previous season.
Keane Lewis-Potter opened the scoring in the 12th minute after an assist from new signing Mamadou Sangare. Vitaly Janelt doubled the advantage before half-time, and Michael Kayode completed the scoring after the interval.
The match also featured a notable landmark for Tottenham: Archie Gray became the club’s youngest captain in a competitive match, surpassing Steve Perryman’s record. However, that individual milestone could not prevent Spurs from beginning the season with a heavy defeat.
