Ben Whishaw voices Paddington in the 2019 animated series The Adventures of Paddington.
Whishaw first became closely associated with the modern screen version of the character when he voiced Paddington in the 2014 film and its 2017 sequel. He continued in the role for the newer animated television series, giving the bear a gentle, polite and recognisably British voice.
The 2019 series is separate from the 1975 stop-motion programme. It presents younger, shorter adventures and is designed for a contemporary family television audience. The stories still draw on Paddington’s familiar relationships with the Brown family and his life in London.
A common confusion is to name an actor from the films who does not voice Paddington. Colin Firth was once attached to the project during development but did not provide the final voice; Whishaw is the established voice in the released films and series.
