Which actor plays Mary Brown in Paddington in Peru?

Emily Mortimer plays Mary Brown in Paddington in Peru.

Mortimer took over the role of Mary Brown for the third Paddington feature film. Mary is Paddington’s adoptive mother and a central member of the Brown family, who travel to Peru to visit Aunt Lucy.

Sally Hawkins played Mary in the first two films, Paddington and Paddington 2. Hawkins did not return for the third film because of scheduling issues, so Emily Mortimer joined Hugh Bonneville and the returning family cast.

The change in actor does not represent a change in character. Mary remains Henry Brown’s wife and Judy and Jonathan’s mother. The film keeps the Brown family at the centre of Paddington’s adventure while moving much of the action from London to Peru.
