Who scored twice in 79 seconds for Brighton against Aston Villa in Matchweek 1 of 2026–27?

Jack Hinshelwood scored twice in 79 seconds for Brighton against Aston Villa in Matchweek 1 of 2026–27.

The young Brighton player struck twice during a remarkable first-half spell as Brighton built a 4–0 lead by the 31st minute. His goals were part of a four-goal burst that overwhelmed Aston Villa before the interval.

The other Brighton goal was scored by Maxim De Cuyper, while Villa defender Victor Lindelöf scored an own goal. The match ended 4–0, with Brighton becoming one of the weekend’s standout winners.

Hinshelwood’s double was particularly notable because he had also scored three goals in Brighton’s final five matches of the previous season. The performance continued a strong run of form into the new campaign.
