Marc Guéhi scored Manchester City’s equalising goal against Bournemouth on the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.
Bournemouth took the lead at the Etihad Stadium through Marcus Tavernier. Manchester City then recovered late, with Guéhi heading in the equaliser in the 85th minute from a corner delivered by substitute Rayan Cherki.
Joško Gvardiol completed City’s comeback in stoppage time, giving the home side a 2–1 victory. The result was Enzo Maresca’s first Premier League win as Manchester City manager and one of the round’s most dramatic finishes.
Guéhi’s goal can be confused with Gvardiol’s because both City goals came late and both were assisted by Cherki. Tavernier, meanwhile, scored for Bournemouth, not Manchester City, after finishing Evanilson’s cross.
