Marc Guéhi scored Manchester City’s equaliser against Bournemouth in their 2–1 comeback win on the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend. He headed City level before Joško Gvardiol scored the stoppage-time winner.
Bournemouth took the lead in the 26th minute through Marcus Tavernier. Manchester City then recovered late, with Guéhi’s header arriving six minutes before the end of normal time. Gvardiol completed the turnaround in stoppage time, giving new manager Enzo Maresca a winning start.
The match was also notable because Bournemouth had never previously led at the Etihad Stadium. City’s victory extended that historical advantage, while the result ended Bournemouth’s run of 18 Premier League matches without defeat. Rayan Cherki assisted both Manchester City goals after entering as a substitute.
