Anton Stach scored Leeds United’s 88th-minute winner against Nottingham Forest in the 2026–27 opening weekend.
Leeds won 1–0 at Nottingham Forest on 22 August 2026, with Stach deciding the match through a late direct free-kick. The German midfielder’s set piece arrived only two minutes before the end of normal time and secured three points for the visitors.
The goal continued Stach’s strong record from outside the penalty area. At the time, it was his fifth goal from outside the box since the beginning of the previous season, more than any other player in the Premier League during that span.
The match was also notable for Leeds recording a second successive opening-match victory. Forest, by contrast, had won only one of their previous 12 Premier League home matches, adding pressure to new manager Oliver Glasner.
