Semi Ajayi scored Hull City's first goal against Manchester United in Matchweek 1 of the 2026–27 Premier League season.
Ajayi struck in the 17th minute at MKM Stadium, putting Hull ahead in their first Premier League match after a nine-year absence from the top flight. Hull went on to win 2–0.
The opening goal followed a Manchester United chance involving Oli McBurnie. United goalkeeper Senne Lammens saved McBurnie's effort onto the post, and Ajayi reacted quickest to finish the move.
Nobel Mendy scored Hull's second goal seven minutes before half-time. That makes Mendy the scorer most likely to be mistaken for Ajayi when recalling the two-goal victory, but Ajayi was the player who opened the scoring.
