Who scored Everton’s first goal in their 2–0 win over Crystal Palace in 2026–27?

The story behind the answer

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored Everton’s first goal in their 2–0 win over Crystal Palace.

Everton opened their 2026–27 Premier League campaign by defeating Crystal Palace 2–0 on 22 August 2026. Dewsbury-Hall scored the first goal, and Thierno Barry added the second after half-time.

The victory was Everton’s first opening Premier League win in five years. It also ended a run of eight top-flight matches without a victory, giving the Toffees a particularly valuable start to the season.

Dewsbury-Hall’s goal should not be confused with Barry’s contribution. Barry scored the second Everton goal, while 19-year-old midfielder Harrison Armstrong was praised for his performance but did not score in the match.
