Chelsea took an early lead at Craven Cottage when João Pedro scored against Fulham. Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers also scored for Chelsea in a 3–2 victory on Monday 24 August 2026.
Fulham replied through Josh King and Gonzalo García, but Chelsea held on for the three points. The match was a west London derby and marked the competitive Chelsea debut of manager Xabi Alonso.
Palmer is a plausible answer because he was central to Chelsea’s attacking performance and also scored. However, the opening Chelsea goal belonged to João Pedro. Morgan Rogers scored later in the first half, while Palmer added Chelsea’s third after the interval.
