Lewis-Potter struck in the 12th minute at the Gtech Community Stadium, giving Brentford an early lead in their first league match of the season. His goal came from a fierce volley after a corner, setting the tone for a dominant performance.
Vitaly Janelt added Brentford’s second before half-time, while Michael Kayode completed the scoring shortly after the interval. Brentford also missed a penalty, making the 3–0 scoreline notable because the team could have won by an even wider margin.
The result was especially significant because it was Brentford’s first Premier League match under head coach Keith Andrews. Lewis-Potter’s goal is easy to confuse with Janelt’s because both came before half-time, but Lewis-Potter scored first.
