Who scored Brentford’s opening goal in their 3–0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the 2026–27 opener?

The story behind the answer

Keane Lewis-Potter scored Brentford’s opening goal in their 3–0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the 2026–27 opener.

Lewis-Potter put Brentford ahead in the 12th minute at the Gtech Community Stadium. The move began with a contribution from Mamadou Sangare, Brentford’s club-record signing, who made an immediate impact on his debut by setting up the goal.

Vitaly Janelt added Brentford’s second before half-time, and Michael Kayode completed the 3–0 scoreline after the interval. Brentford therefore began the season with a convincing victory over Tottenham.

The result continued Brentford’s upward momentum after they matched their best-ever Premier League finish in the previous campaign. Tottenham, meanwhile, began a new era under manager Roberto De Zerbi and had several debutants in their lineup.
