Marc Guéhi equalised with a header for Manchester City against Bournemouth in the 2026–27 Premier League opener.
Guéhi scored Manchester City’s levelling goal late in the second half at the Etihad Stadium. Bournemouth had led through Marcus Tavernier, and City were facing the possibility of beginning Enzo Maresca’s managerial reign with a home defeat.
The equaliser came six minutes before the end of normal time and changed the match’s direction. Joško Gvardiol then scored the winning goal in stoppage time, completing City’s 2–1 comeback victory.
Guéhi’s role was notable beyond his goal: Maresca used the centre-back in central midfield in his first match as City manager. Rayan Cherki also made a decisive impact from the bench by assisting both of City’s late goals.
