Who produced U2's debut studio album, Boy?

Steve Lillywhite produced U2's debut studio album, Boy.

Boy was released on 20 October 1980 by Island Records. It introduced U2's early post-punk sound and included songs such as “I Will Follow,” “Out of Control,” and “A Day Without Me.” Steve Lillywhite, already known for his work with artists including Siouxsie and the Banshees and Peter Gabriel, shaped the album's crisp, energetic production.

The recording took place primarily at Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin. Lillywhite went on to produce U2's next two studio albums, October and War, creating an important production partnership during the group's formative period. His work helped preserve the direct impact of the band's live performances while giving the recordings a more expansive sound.
