Evan Davis presented every episode of the British television programme Dragon's Den from its 2005 launch.
Davis is a British economist, journalist and broadcaster. He was already known for presenting BBC business and current-affairs programming when Dragon's Den began, making him a natural fit for a show centred on investment, valuation and entrepreneurship.
His role differs from that of the dragons. The presenter introduces the entrepreneurs, explains the pitch setup and helps viewers follow the negotiations, while the dragons decide whether to invest. The entrepreneurs do not pitch to Davis as an investor.
Davis has also presented Newsnight and The Today Programme on BBC Radio 4. Some viewers associate Dragon's Den with later presenters or guest appearances, but Davis is the consistent presenter linked to the programme's British run from the beginning.
