Richard Farleigh was the first Australian investor on the British television programme Dragon's Den.
Farleigh joined the programme's investor panel for its second series, following the show's 2005 launch. Born in Australia, he became known as a businessman and investor with experience in financial markets and private enterprise. His background differed from that of several other early Dragons, whose public profiles were rooted in British retail, manufacturing or leisure businesses.
Farleigh's tenure was relatively brief compared with the longest-serving panel members. That can make his place in the programme's history easy to overlook, especially because the investor line-up changed repeatedly during the early series.
The question concerns nationality and panel history, not the nationality of contestants. Dragon's Den has featured entrepreneurs from many countries, but Farleigh is remembered as the show's first Australian Dragon.
