MediaCityUK is a large broadcasting and media complex at Salford Quays in Greater Manchester. The BBC became a major tenant there, and Dragon's Den was among the programmes associated with the relocation of production from earlier studio facilities.
Salford is a city in its own right, directly across the River Irwell from Manchester. Because the complex is marketed as part of Greater Manchester's media hub, reports sometimes casually describe the location as Manchester, but the legally precise city answer is Salford.
The move reflected a broader concentration of BBC production in the North of England. It did not change the show's premise: entrepreneurs still pitch to a panel, request investment and negotiate ownership under intense questioning.
