Angela Bassett plays Erika Sloane in Mission: Impossible – Fallout.

Sloane is the director of the CIA and becomes an important authority figure during the film’s investigation into the stolen plutonium. She assigns August Walker to accompany Ethan Hunt, creating tension between the IMF agent and the CIA operative.

Fallout was released in 2018 and directed by Christopher McQuarrie. Tom Cruise stars as Ethan Hunt, with Henry Cavill as August Walker, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, and Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell.

Erika Sloane is not the same character as Hunley, the CIA director introduced in Rogue Nation and played by Alec Baldwin. Bassett’s role is also distinct from the recurring IMF team members.
