Solomon Lane is the leader of the terrorist group at the center of Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
Lane first appeared in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation as the leader of the Syndicate, a network of rogue agents. In Fallout, the surviving organization operates through the Apostles, who plan attacks intended to destabilize governments and reshape global power.
Ethan Hunt and his allies must recover stolen plutonium and prevent the Apostles from carrying out their plan. Lane’s knowledge of intelligence operations makes him a dangerous adversary, while his history with Ethan gives the conflict continuity across two films.
Sean Harris plays Solomon Lane. The character is sometimes confused with John Lark, the alias used by August Walker, or with Gabriel, a different antagonist introduced in Dead Reckoning Part One. Lane’s return is one of Fallout’s clearest links to Rogue Nation.
