Hayley Atwell plays Grace, the skilled thief recruited by Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.
Grace enters the story as an independent professional whose theft draws her into a conflict over the Entity, a powerful artificial intelligence system. Ethan wants to protect her while also learning what she knows. Her improvisational style and uncertain allegiance make her an important new presence in the team’s mission.
Atwell’s Grace is different from Vanessa Kirby’s Alanna Mitsopolis, known as the White Widow. Kirby’s character is an established arms dealer and recurring figure from Fallout, whereas Grace is introduced as a thief with no prior history in the series. Dead Reckoning Part One also features returning performers Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg and Rebecca Ferguson.
