Who played the role of the Keymaker in The Matrix Reloaded?
Answer
Randall Duk Kim
Answer
Randall Duk Kim
Randall Duk Kim played the Keymaker in The Matrix Reloaded. The character is an elderly-looking program who creates specialized keys that open hidden routes through the Matrix.
The Keymaker is one of the system’s Exiles: a program whose original usefulness has ended but who avoids deletion. The Merovingian keeps him captive because his keys provide access to back doors and concealed parts of the simulated world. Neo, Morpheus, and Trinity rescue him so he can guide them toward the Source.
His role is crucial during the film’s climax. He leads the group through a maze of doors while Agent Smith and his duplicates pursue them, then gives Neo the final key needed to reach the Architect. Kim’s other widely recognized genre role is voicing Master Oogway in the Kung Fu Panda films, but the Keymaker remains his signature Matrix performance.
