Who played Simba's voice opposite Beyoncé's Nala in the 2019 film The Lion King?

The story behind the answer

Donald Glover voiced Simba opposite Beyoncé's Nala in the 2019 film The Lion King.

Directed by Jon Favreau, The Lion King is a photorealistic computer-animated remake of Disney's 1994 traditionally animated film. Beyoncé voiced the adult Nala, while Donald Glover voiced the adult Simba, the lion prince who must reclaim his kingdom.

The cast also included James Earl Jones, who returned as Mufasa, and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar. Beyoncé recorded “Spirit” for the film's soundtrack, and that song was later connected with the companion album The Lion King: The Gift.

A common mix-up is assigning Simba's voice to James Earl Jones, but Jones voiced Mufasa in both the 1994 and 2019 versions. Beyoncé's Nala is the adult character, while Shahadi Wright Joseph voiced young Nala.
