Who played Miss Moneypenny in the first 14 official James Bond films?

The story behind the answer

Lois Maxwell played Miss Moneypenny in the first 14 official James Bond films.

Maxwell debuted as Moneypenny in Dr. No (1962), the first Eon Productions Bond film. She continued in the role through A View to a Kill (1985), appearing opposite four different actors playing James Bond: Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, and Timothy Dalton.

Moneypenny is the secretary associated with Bond’s superior, M, at MI6 headquarters. Her witty exchanges with Bond became a recurring feature of the series, although the character was usually kept separate from the films’ main action. Maxwell’s final appearance as Moneypenny came before Caroline Bliss took over the role in The Living Daylights. A common mix-up is counting every Bond film: Maxwell did not appear in the non-Eon Casino Royale (1967) or Never Say Never Again (1983).
