Which actor played villain Francisco Scaramanga in The Man with the Golden Gun?
Answer
Christopher Lee
Answer
Christopher Lee
Christopher Lee played villain Francisco Scaramanga in The Man with the Golden Gun.
Scaramanga is a highly skilled assassin known for using a golden gun and charging enormous fees for his targets. Lee’s performance makes him a dark mirror of James Bond: both are expert shooters, charismatic operators and skilled at navigating dangerous situations.
The 1974 film was adapted from Ian Fleming’s 1965 novel and starred Roger Moore as Bond. Guy Hamilton directed it, following his work on Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever and Live and Let Die. The story takes Bond to locations including Hong Kong, Macau and Thailand.
Christopher Lee is sometimes confused with Christopher Walken, who played Max Zorin in A View to a Kill. Lee’s long screen career also included roles outside the Bond series, including Count Dooku in Star Wars and Saruman in The Lord of the Rings.
