Who played James Bond in the 1971 film Diamonds Are Forever?
Answer
Sean Connery
Answer
Sean Connery
Sean Connery played James Bond in the 1971 film Diamonds Are Forever.
Diamonds Are Forever was Connery’s sixth official Eon-produced Bond film and followed George Lazenby’s single appearance in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Connery initially announced that he would not return, but he came back for this film after negotiations with producer Albert R. Broccoli and United Artists.
The story sends Bond to investigate a diamond-smuggling operation connected to Ernst Stavro Blofeld and a satellite weapon. It also features Jill St. John as Tiffany Case and Charles Gray as Blofeld. The title comes from Ian Fleming’s 1956 novel, although the film changes much of the plot and tone.
Connery’s return was temporary within the Eon series. His next Bond performance was in Never Say Never Again, a separate 1983 production that was not made by Eon Productions.
