Fabian Hürzeler managed Brighton & Hove Albion during their 4–0 win over Aston Villa on the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.
Brighton hosted Aston Villa at Falmer Stadium on Sunday, 23 August 2026. Hürzeler's side scored four times in the first 32 minutes, producing the largest home victory of the opening round.
The match was controlled by Brighton before half-time. Maxim De Cuyper and Jack Hinshelwood both scored twice, while Aston Villa also lost João Gomes to a red card before the interval.
Hürzeler was listed as Brighton's manager for the season. The opposing manager was Unai Emery, who remained in charge of Aston Villa, making the fixture a meeting between two established Premier League coaching figures.
