Who is the warehouse foreman in The Office?

The story behind the answer

The warehouse foreman in The Office is Darryl Philbin.

Played by Craig Robinson, Darryl runs the warehouse beneath Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch. He is introduced as a practical, confident supervisor who works with warehouse employees including Roy Anderson and Lonny Collins. His position gives him a perspective quite different from the office staff upstairs, and he is often less impressed by Michael Scott’s management style.

Darryl becomes more important as the series progresses. He negotiates with Michael over warehouse workers’ pay, participates in office and warehouse conflicts, and develops a friendship with Jim Halpert. After Jo Bennett takes over Sabre, Darryl is moved upstairs and briefly works in the office during Jim’s period as co-manager.

Viewers sometimes call him the warehouse manager rather than foreman; both descriptions reflect his supervisory role at different points in the series. The quiz wording points to his best-known early job, making Darryl the canonical answer—not Roy, who is a warehouse dock worker, or Dwight, who works primarily in sales and later management.
