Alice Hoffman is credited as an executive producer of Practical Magic 2 and wrote its source novel, The Book of Magic.
Hoffman created the Practical Magic literary universe and wrote the 1995 novel that inspired the original film. She later expanded the series with three additional books, ending with The Book of Magic in 2021. The sequel is based on that fourth novel.
