Evan Davis has presented the UK television programme Dragon's Den throughout its original BBC run.
Davis is an economist, journalist and broadcaster who joined the programme as its presenter when the British version launched. In that role, he introduces the entrepreneurs, explains the investment proposals and guides viewers through the negotiations with the Dragons. His calm interviewing style contrasts with the sharper exchanges that can occur during pitches.
Before and alongside Dragon's Den, Davis was known for BBC journalism and radio presenting. He presented the BBC Radio 4 programme Today and later became the presenter of Newsnight, giving him a career that spans business, politics and television entertainment.
The presenter is sometimes confused with the investors because he is a highly visible part of the programme. However, Davis does not sit on the panel, make offers or receive equity. The Dragons are the businesspeople assessing each pitch; Davis is the programme's host and interviewer.
