Rob Law created the children's ride-on suitcase brand Trunki featured on the UK series Dragons' Den.
Law designed Trunki as a lightweight case that children could ride while travelling. The product was intended to make journeys easier for families by combining luggage storage with a child-friendly ride-on design. Law presented the idea on Dragons' Den during the programme’s first series in 2005.
The pitch became one of the show’s best-known examples of a business that did not receive an investment. Although the Dragons declined to fund the proposal, Law continued developing and commercialising the product. Trunki subsequently became a successful British design brand and was sold in many countries.
Trunki’s television history is often mixed up with that of Tangle Teezer. Both businesses became famous through Dragons' Den, but Trunki is travel equipment founded by Law, while Tangle Teezer is a hair-care company founded by Shaun Pulfrey. The two entrepreneurs also appeared in different parts of the programme’s history.
