Who directed the James Bond film GoldenEye?
Answer
Martin Campbell
Answer
Martin Campbell
Martin Campbell directed the James Bond film GoldenEye.
Released in 1995, GoldenEye was the seventeenth film in the official Eon Productions series and the first to star Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. Campbell had previously directed action and thriller projects, and his work helped relaunch the film series after a six-year gap following Licence to Kill.
The story follows Bond as he investigates the theft of the GoldenEye satellite weapon and confronts former MI6 agent Alec Trevelyan. Sean Bean played Trevelyan, while Izabella Scorupco portrayed computer programmer Natalya Simonova.
GoldenEye is sometimes confused with films directed by John Glen, who directed five earlier Bond films, or Sam Mendes, who directed Skyfall and Spectre. Martin Campbell later returned to the franchise as director of Casino Royale in 2006, making him the only director to helm both Brosnan’s debut and Daniel Craig’s debut as Bond.
