Who directed the 2022 Uncharted film?

Ruben Fleischer directed the 2022 film Uncharted. He took the film from a long-running development process and shaped it as a globe-trotting action adventure based on Naughty Dog’s PlayStation franchise.

Fleischer was hired in early 2020, after several other directors had been attached or considered, including David O. Russell, Neil Burger, Seth Gordon, Dan Trachtenberg, Shawn Levy, and Travis Knight. The screenplay was credited to Rafe Lee Judkins, Art Marcum, and Matt Holloway, with additional story credits.

The production faced an immediate disruption when filming began in March 2020 and was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Shooting resumed in July and concluded in October, using locations such as Barcelona, Boston, New York City, and Kiamba. Fleischer was already known for directing films including Zombieland and Venom before making Uncharted.
