The old associate who leads the pirates that briefly capture Nate in Drake’s Fortune is Eddy Raja.
Eddy is an Indonesian pirate leader and one of Nathan Drake’s former business associates. Their history is hostile: Drake previously double-crossed him, leaving Eddy with a lasting grudge. In the game, Gabriel Roman hires Eddy and his gang to capture Nate and secure the island while Roman’s mercenaries pursue the same treasure from another direction.
Elena Fisher eventually frees Nate, but Eddy remains involved in the search. After many of his men are killed by the island’s cursed Descendants, he becomes convinced that something supernatural is hunting them. Roman dismisses his warnings, and Eddy’s alliance with the expedition collapses.
Eddy is not merely a generic pirate boss. He is a recurring personal rival whose anger toward Drake gives the capture scene extra context. Talbot and Rafe Adler belong to later stories, while Atoq Navarro is Roman’s lieutenant and commander of the mercenaries. Eddy’s fate is left grimly implied when a Descendant drags him into a pit.
