Who directed Furious 7?

James Wan directed Furious 7.

Released in 2015, Furious 7 was the seventh main film in the franchise and marked James Wan’s first and only directing contribution to the series. Wan was already known for horror films including Saw, Insidious, and The Conjuring before moving into large-scale action filmmaking.

The story follows Dominic Toretto’s crew as they face Deckard Shaw, who seeks revenge for the defeat of his brother Owen Shaw. Major sequences take place in Los Angeles, the Caucasus Mountains, Abu Dhabi, and the fictional African country of God’s Eye’s target operations.

The production was affected by Paul Walker’s death in 2013. His brothers and visual effects doubles helped complete Brian O’Conner’s remaining scenes, and the film ends with a farewell sequence for the character. Justin Lin returned to direct later entries.
