Who designed the poster for the initial Glastonbury 2024 line-up announcement?

The story behind the answer

Stanley Donwood designed the poster for Glastonbury Festival’s initial 2024 line-up announcement.

The first wave of performers, including all three headliners, was announced on 14 March 2024. Its poster was created by Stanley Donwood, the British artist and designer best known for his long-running visual collaboration with Radiohead. His work often combines unsettling imagery, dense lettering and a handmade or screen-printed feel, making him a distinctive choice for Glastonbury’s deliberately unconventional visual identity.

The poster was not the complete 2024 line-up: the full programme was released later, on 4 June. The initial announcement revealed Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA as headliners, alongside other early names. Jamie Hewlett, Storm Thorgerson and Peter Blake are all credible artistic distractors because each has a strong association with influential music or pop-art imagery, but the 2024 announcement poster is credited to Donwood.
