Oxfam is the charity listed as a main Glastonbury beneficiary alongside Greenpeace and WaterAid.
Glastonbury’s charitable identity grew from the festival’s countercultural and political roots. Earlier events supported causes including the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, while later fundraising developed around organisations working on poverty, environmental protection and access to clean water.
Oxfam, Greenpeace and WaterAid became the festival’s principal charity partners. They do more than receive donations: their volunteers and projects are visible across the site. Oxfam, for example, organises thousands of stewards, while Greenpeace and WaterAid run prominent educational and campaigning spaces.
The festival also supports many additional local and international causes, so Oxfam is not its only beneficiary. That is the usual source of confusion: the question asks for one of the three main supported organisations, not every charity that has received Glastonbury funding.
