Who designed the LEGO House building in Billund, Denmark?
Answer
Bjarke Ingels
Answer
Bjarke Ingels
Bjarke Ingels designed the LEGO House building in Billund, Denmark.
LEGO House opened in 2017 as an experience centre celebrating LEGO play, creativity and the history of the LEGO Group. It was designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, commonly abbreviated BIG, the architecture practice founded by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels.
The building consists of stacked white blocks resembling oversized LEGO bricks. A large LEGO brick-shaped central area is topped by a giant red roof element, while public terraces and colourful activity zones reinforce the building’s playful concept.
LEGO House is not the same as LEGOLAND Billund Resort. LEGOLAND is a theme park that opened in 1968, whereas LEGO House is an indoor visitor centre with exhibitions, building areas and historical displays. Both are in Billund, the Danish town where the LEGO Group was founded and remains headquartered.
