Who designed the costumes for Practical Magic 2?

The story behind the answer

Alexandra Byrne designed the costumes for Practical Magic 2.

A costume designer develops the clothing worn by the characters and uses fabric, silhouette, color, and period or contemporary details to communicate personality and relationships. In a fantasy sequel, costumes can also help distinguish ordinary life from the story’s magical elements.

Alexandra Byrne is an English costume designer whose work includes Elizabeth: The Golden Age, The Avengers, Doctor Strange, and Mary Queen of Scots. Her credit places her in charge of the sequel’s costume department, working with director Susanne Bier and the performers.

Byrne should not be confused with the production designer. Tom Burton designed the film’s physical environments, while Byrne designed what the characters wear. Costume design also differs from hair and makeup, which are separate production departments.
